Lixnaw CCE Notes
CCÉ LEAC SNÃMHA Well Lixnaw Comhaltas left its mark at Fleadh Cheoil na
hÉireann returning to Kerry with no less than six Medals from various
competitions. Ranóg Nà GhrÃofa Townsend claimed Gold in 15/18 Sean nós
dancing with Alannah Nà Chiosáin coming 3rd, our youngest competitor
Aideen Quinlan took 2nd in Flute U12, Dónal Hunt 2nd in 15/18 whistling,
Pádraig Enright 2nd in 15/18 mouth organ and Orla O Connor 3rd in
Fiddle slow airs. Our 15/18 Grupa Cheoil played their hearts out for the
branch and for their teacher Maura Walsh who brought them to All
Ireland stage with her teaching over the months and their willingness
and commitment. There was no medal unfortunately but pride in their
performance and Lixnaw colours was enough. Congratulations to all and
it's back to Lixnaw to celebrate the winnings and reflect on Fleadh
Cheoil 2015.
