CCÉ LEAC SNÁMHA
Well, June has arrived so we can start looking forward to Fleadh Cheoil Chiarraí as Sat 20th is just around the corner and Maura Walsh is pacing the floors in the Ceolann each week preparing all our grupaí cheoil and banna cheoil for the various competitions. On Sun 14th June Radio Kerry’s Billy Donegan will do an outside broadcast for Fleadh Chiarraí on the 11 to 1 show so tune in to kick start your Fleadh warm up! We are thinking of our members sitting Junior and Leaving Cert this week so go n’eirí libh leis na páipéirí. Well done to Aideen Quinlan and Ranóg Ní Ghríofa Townsend who came in joint 4th in Sean-nós dancing in the Fleadh Nua held in Ennis on May 23rd. Our annual Féile Cheoil will be held on Sat13th/Sun 14th June, starting with a step-dancing feis on the Saturday from 10am with adjudicator Breda Mulcahy. Our annual concert at 8pm on the Sat night will feature our own musicians, singers and dancers and on Sunday 14th competitions will commence from 2pm in traditional music, traditional singing in irish and english and comhrá gaeilge, competitions up to U18. For full details on the Féile cheoil and more check www.kerrycomhaltas.ie and kerry CCÉ Facebook page and you can tweet @kerrycomhaltas. Slán tamall.
