Lixnaw CCE Well, we had a lovely night at the Ceolann on Friday last when we officially recognised and congratulated our branch prize winners at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann. Families and friends gathered to hear Brīd Leonard's newly composed song, sung beautifully by Máiréad Curran, Aoife Enright play her winning tune on the Mouth Organ and Gearóid Galvin to sing Aoife's winning newly composed Irish Song and Donagh Mc Elligott play his winning newly composed tune on concertina. The branch is hugely proud of such achievements and with such talent echoing from the walls at present, from U12 upwards, I think we will be all borrowing Brīd's Sat-Nav to make our way to the various Fleadhanna in the coming years! On to classes, again just to remind you that Comhrá will be held every Monday at 7.30pm, starting Mon 22nd, step dancing each Wednesday 7.30-9.30 and Saturdays 11.30-2.30, traditional music every Thursday, beginners from 5pm, starting Thurs 25th. Any other information regarding classes or use of facilities at the Ceolann please contact Bridie Stack, Secretary on 7132462 or 086 1642373086 1642373 or Chairperson, Liz O'Keeffe on 7131625 and as always check www.kerrycomhaltas.ie and Kerry CCE on Facebook. Slán anois.
