Lixnaw CCE Notes
Lixnaw CCÃ: Well, Fleadh Cheoil na Mumhan has come and gone and we all
enjoyed the whole event. Standards were amazingly high this year but our
branch still brought home a lot of medals. It was fantastic to have our
U18 Ceili Band and Grúpa Cheoil, who have joined with our neighbours
Ballydonoghue, qualify for the All Ireland, great credit to all
musicians and to Maura and Katie for their joint efforts. The Enright
family were laden down with Brid winning the 'newly composed english
song', Aoife 1st 'newly composed irish song', 1st mouth organ U18,
Pádraig 1st Tin whistle slow airs U15, 1st mouth organ U15, 3rd lilting
U15. Sean Galvin 3rd Mandolin U15, Edaeil O Connell 1st O18 english
singing, Donagh Mc Elligott 1st newly composed tune, 3rd english singing
U18. Alannah Kissane and Ranóg Townsend go forward in Sean nós dancing
and Pól de Staic in Comhrá. Congratulations to all who did so well and
we will be heading to Sligo for Fleadh Cheoil na hÃireann to support our
qualifiers. Thanks again to Maura Walsh for all n her work and
dedication and to Katie, also to all parents and to all our young
members who represent the branch so well.
