CAPTION for Picture: TRALEE's ÁINE WINS AT FLEADH: Corn Stiofáin Uí hEalaoire was presented to Áine Ní Dhubhlainn, of the Tralee Branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann after she was chosen by a panel of moltóirí to have been the best of the Under 18 scéalaithe from the four provinces of Ireland with her story on 'Mealladh Éadaoine.' Áine had already been awarded '1st place' at the Munster Fleadh in July. She returned home to Tralee on Monday with her family after an exciting time at the Belfast Fleadh; they were among the 800,000 or so enthusiasts who attended Ireland's finest and best trad festivals!
RESULTS FOR TRALEE COMPETITORS at the All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil in Belfast:
CRAOBH THRÁ LÍ: Six members of Craobh Thrá Lí, the Tralee Branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, travelled to Belfast to take part in Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2026 and three returned with ‘placings’, two firsts and a second. The following are the competitors who represented Craobh Thrá Lí at last weekend’s Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann: Scéalaíocht (faoi 18): 1ú háit…Áine Ní Dhubhlainn who has ensured that Corn Stiofáin Uí hEalaoire comes to Tralee for the 2nd year running; Banna Céilí (faoi 18): 1ú háit...Crossfields Céilí Band, Neansaí Ní Chonchúir is the Tralee Branch representative in the band; Bainseó (faoi 18): 2ú háit...Emily-Rós Ní Mhurchú; Scéalaíocht (faoi 12): Conchúr Mac Muiris; Comhrá Gaeilge (faoi 18): Neansaí Ní Chonchúir; Comhrá Gaeilge (faoi 18): Áine Ní Dhubhlainn; Comhrá Gaeilge (faoi 15): Mairéad Ní Dhubhlainn; Amhránaíocht ar an Sean-nós (O18): Seán Ó Maoilmhichil. Well done, all! The 140 or so members of the Branch will return to their weekly sessions and lessons in Gaelcholáiste Chiarraí in early September.
