At our monthly meeting Last Tuesday night a vote of sympathy was passed to Tadhg and Margaret Creedon and family on the death of Tadhg's mother, Joan. Branch chairman Eoin O’Carra thanked thanks all those who provided entertainment for the public at the courthouse on St. Patrick's Day.
Entries for Fleadh Cheoil Chiarraí have been flowing in. It looks like we will have our biggest number of entries in years. We have many entries for the music competitions and a huge entry for the dancing (over 20 sets in the set dancing alone). Entries are now closed.
Spraoi na n-Óg dancing competitions will take place in the Gleneagle Hotel on April 29th at 10 a.m.
There will be a Céilí in Fossa Hall on Sunday May 14th from 3pm to 6pm. Music by Neilly O'Connor.
Our branch is persuing the possibility of setting up a series of sessions for our young musicians, to give them a chance to practise their music. This is not suitable for beginners.
The meeting also heard a full report from the Co. Board meeting and the Munster Council meeting and from the official launch of the new building in Tralee I.T. which will include a special section for Comhaltas.
Celtic Steps The Show Opened its doors on April 2nd to start the 2017 Season. The show runs six days a week, Every Sunday to Friday from April to October in a Fantastic venue based in Killarney Racecourse. Showcasing twenty one “World Irish Dancing Titles" within the current cast of Dancers and complemented by a multi award winning live band .Get set for an unforgettable evening of Irish music, song and dance.
