We are delighted to inform you that we are now having a Senior Ladies and Senior Mixed Set Dancing Competitions as part of the upcoming Spraoi Na nÓg 2016.

The following rules will apply for both Senior competitions:

1) A maximum of two under 18 dancers may dance up to seniors.

2) Dancing two figures of chosen set

Over 35 sets are more than welcome to dance in the senior category.

Age Groups : Novice U9, 9 – 12 and 12 - 15 Ladies and Mixed
Dancing one figure of chosen set.
1st,2nd & 3rd Prize winners at County Fleadh Cheoil are not allowed to compete in the novice
Music for novice Competition - CD, iPod etc only allowed.
One Adjudicator for Novice Competitions.
Novice Only:
1. May dance up 2 dancers from all categories.
2. Four dancers may dance twice in the same competition.

Open Competition
- Age groups : U12, 12 - 15 and 15 – 18 ladies and mixed.
- Ages are determined as and from 1st of January in year of Competition.
- A maximum of two dancers are allowed to dance in the next higher age group.
- No competitor may dance more than once in any one competition.
- Mixed set teams in 12-15 and 15-18 must consist of four male and four female dancers.
- U 12 mixed full set dancing teams should, as far as possible, consist of four male and four
female dancers, but should contain a minimum of three males.
- Dancing two figures of chosen set.
- Admission €5 (including competitors)
- Three adjudicators on the day for open competitions.
- The adjudicator’s decision is final.
- Sets will be danced on stage.
- In house music provided on the day (All sets will use this music)
- There will be no practice with musicians beforehand.
- Results will be announced at different intervals during the day

Note: Due to the Child Protection Policy there will be no video recording or
photography on the day in venue.

Health and Safety:We would ask all parents/teachers to ensure that all their competitors /
children are supervised at all times.
