Founding member of The Chieftains Sean Potts has died aged 83.

Founding member of The Chieftains Sean Potts has died aged 83.
The whistle player was born in Drimnagh, Dublin in 1930 and formed The Chieftains with fellow whistle player and friend Paddy Moloney in 1962.
Potts left the group in 1968 before for a contract with Gael Linn Records but returned soon after.
He left again in 1979.
Potts also played the bodhrán and bones.
Following his departure from The Chieftains, Potts did a lot of work for RTÉ Radio.
