Goodbye, old Winter,
From Hibernia to Hibernus
And roll on Vernal Day
With its sun and rays eternal.
When Blaise gets ready the throats to bless
And Brigid of the Cross from the County of the short grass,
Our first Lady – our Patron Saint.

Welcome March of Mars,
With its entrance through Ash and Lion.
St. Patrick’s Day – our Patron Saint.
The Vernal equinox.
Come Lady’s Day on twenty-five, when Gabriel did announce
A Saviour would be born, all mankind to free.
So, be on your way for Avril Day
To the bleats of Agnus Dei.

Oh, April of the showers – Avril of the nature Renaissance.
Aibreán na Cásca, the early years of a.d., when the people told Pilate
To “Crucify Him”, and so began
The Cross of Stations, between two thieves, beneath “INRI”
On the Mount of Calvary
High above the city of Zion.
