CCÉ LEAC SNÁMHA

‘Féile feabhra ar líne’ will take place over next weekend 27th/28th February as our branch is determined to carry on our annual féile tradition, held annually since 1990. We are all sad that we cannot hold the usual féile events and concert but we will take you on a historical journey of féile feabhra through the years, with a series of photographs and videos of past performances. These will be uploaded on Sat 27th and can be viewed on our facebook page. On Sunday 28th we are running an online fun, novice  music competition for U12 and 12-15 ages, for those who have never won 1st, 2nd or 3rd at any Co fleadh or Ceol an gheimhridh, entries online by Wed 17th 5pm. Full details of all events on ‘lixnaw comhaltas ceolann facebook page. Our zoom music classes are up and running weekly, places still available for all instruments. It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the recent passing of Joe Burke, the legend accordion player from Loughrea, Co Galway. Joe was a great friend and supporter of Lixnaw comhaltas, regularly performing at our concerts, both in the ceolann and in the convent hall for almost 60 years. His passing will leave a huge void in the music world but his music will live on and on. Our sincere condolences to his wife Anne and family. Ar dheis Dé go raiibh a anam.
