CCÉ LEAC SNÁMHA It is said that ‘A nation’s culture resides in the hearts and soul of its people’ and this quote from Mahatma Gandhi sums up every aspect of our culture that was evident during our 30th annual féile feabhra. From our lovely concert on Friday night with all our young members who danced, sang and played to entertain a huge crowd, the fantastic workshops for musicians and dancers and all the competitions who brought so much support from neighbouring branches and beyond, we say a huge thank you to everyone. This féile was really a reminder of how important it is to keep our traditions of music, song, dance and our Irish language alive and to celebrate how our branch and all comhaltas branches are doing that, long may it continue. Well done to Mikey Fealy, Kyra O Sullivan and Aideen Cronin who were part of the All Ireland winning Scór competition, a fantastic achievement. Please note that set dancing classes are now held in the Ceolann on Mondays at 5pm along with all the other classes in comhrá gaeilge, step and sean nós dancing, singing, lilting and traditional music covering all instruments. Any information required please contact secretary Anne on 087 6979334 and for up to date comhaltas news its www.kerrycomhaltas.ie, kerryccé facebook page and tweet@kerycomhaltas. Slán tamall.
