Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann in Kerry celebrated its 60th Anniversary on the weekend of the 9/10th November 2019. On Saturday the 9th of November, RTE recorded two programmes for   Céilí House. The new Dúchas Comhaltas Centre was an apt setting the event featured Kerry artistes spanning various decades since 1959.

This exciting event saw a full house as tickets sold out well in advance.

On Sunday the 10th November from 3 pm to 6 pm a celebration Céili concluded the weekend celebrations with magical music from Ui Bhriain Ceili Band the huge gathering of dancers stepped it out on the new dance floor at The Duchas Centre.  I can attest that this floor is now well seasoned for dancing

Next weekend 15th to 17th November sees the   Torc Set Dancing Festival celebrating their eight-year with three Ceili and Three set dancing workshops. The weekend kicks off with a ceili hosting Johnny Reidy Ceili Band. The Abbey on Saturday night and the finale ceili sees The Kingdom Ceili band on stage. The festival also boasts three-set dancing workshops with Timmy Woulfe. This year we are delighted to add social dancing in the restaurant area after the ceili on Friday and Saturday night, complimentary finger food will also be served curtsy of the management of the Torc Hotel.
