Killarney Comhaltas was given an award by Kerry Co Council at The Municipal District of Killarney Annual awards ceremony in The Rose Hotel last Thursday for their outstanding performances at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Drogheda.

Spa G.A.A set dancers also received an award at the same ceremony for winning All Ireland, Scor na nOg set dancing title 2018. Heartiest congratulations to all involved in these competitions.

Our music sessions in The Parish hall resumed last Saturday night 19th January at 6 pm. Mike Rice flute player lead the group.  The night was magical with all levels of musicians and age groups participating.  This session proved a huge success last year and we are confident that its popularity will continue and grow over the next few months.

Renowned musicians Nicky and Anne McAuliffe have taught our music classes for numerous years. We are delighted to congratulate them on been awarded TG4 Gradam Ceoil Lifetime Achievement Award.  This year’s awards will be presented at the Gradam Ceoil TG4 Concert in Waterfront Hall, Belfast on Sunday 17th February. A number of our members will attend the presentation.

Ceoil an Gheimhridh will again be hosted in Drumcolligher on 17th February. We would like to wish our two musicians Olwyn and Ewan Evans the best of luck.

Sult na nÓg 2019 will be in North Campus IT Tralee on Saturday 2nd March 2019, with dancing competitions in Fossa Community Hall on Sunday 3rd March.  Participants wishing to enter must have their completed entry forms with our branch secretary on Thursday 7th February.
