We would like to take this opportunity to wish Tralee a successful weekend with Fleadh Cheoil Chiarrai 17th to 21st May. The fleadh will be officially opened on Wednesday 17th May in the Rose Hotel from 8pm by Tadhg Ó Maolcatha, Cathaoirleach CCÉ Comhairle na Mumhan, followed by a concert featuring top class musicians from all over Kerry

Over the course of the fleadh various venues will host competitions in set dancing, ceili dancing, singing, sean nos dancing and singing clubs. The town of Tralee will be alive with street entertainment. On Friday there will be a street entertainment competition with €900 in prize money up for grabs. Neily O’Connor will play for an outdoor ceili in the square on Friday night from 8pm. Entertainment will continue in the square  into Saturday from 6pm with trad bands, No Strings Attached and Southern Trad. On Sunday afternoon from 3pm Ui Bhriain will play for another outdoor ceili in the square. The fleadh will close at 6pm with a musical ceremony. There is something to suit all ages come along and support this wonderful celebration of our culture.
