COMHDHÁIL 2017

Comhdháil 2017 took place last weekend in Comhaltas HQ in Monkstown, Dublin. There was a good representation from Kerry with everyone hoping to see our own Alannah Kissane from Lixnaw making it onto the Óg Bhaoill committee. Alannah spoke on the promotion of the Irish Language and explained what is happening in her own branch in Lixnaw. She gave mention to the setting up of a library of ‘leabhair as gaeilge’ which interested many delegates. Alannah also spoke of the regular ranganna gaeilge which take place within the branch.

Three candidates were going forward for two positions on the Youth Officers Committee. Voting was tight and the final result showed Alannah just being pipped by the narrowest of margins for that second position. She can be so proud that she represented her branch, her county and her province so well on the day. No doubt she will continue the excellent work she is doing at present as Oifigeach na nÓg  and hopefully get another opportunity to represent Kerry and Munster at National level when the next vacancy arises on the Youth Officer committee at Comhdháil.

We would also like to thank all those who voted for Alannah. The support Alannah received was great encouragement to her.
